Valentino Rossi, sporting his traditionally flamboyant helmet which marks his home-race, won at Mugello for the seventh time in a row yesterday, to extend his lead in the world champiopnship to 12 points over Dani Pedrosa.Current world champion Casey Stoner took second place with Pedrosa in third.The win was Rossi's 3rd consecutive in the Moto GP championship this year, and apart from cementing his 'ownership' of Mugello, it also leaves the popular Italian as favourite to regain his Moto GP title this year.
