CFB Wrap: Texas Still #1

#1 Texas defeats #11 Missouri 56-31
The Longhorns destroyed the Tigers legitimizing themselves as the #1 team in college football. Texas has now beaten the two best teams besides themselves in the Big 12 on back to back weeks. QB Colt McCoy completed 90% of his passes against Mizzou and now finds himself #1 in the Heisman race. He has completed 80% of his passes over the entire season. That is truly incredible. The road does not get easier for the Longhorns as they must now face #8 Oklahoma State and #7 ! Texas Tech in the next two weeks, both who remain undefeated as well. If Texas does knock off these two foes, they have a great chance to run the table and put themselves in position to play for a national championship.

#10 Georgia defeats #22 Vanderbilt 24-14
The Commodores have now lost their past two games and finally order has seem to be restored in the SEC East. Georgia did not dazzle, but a win in the SEC is never easy. Georgia now must face #13 LSU and #5! Florida in the next two weeks. If somehow the Bulldogs win t! hese two games, they will fly up the rankings and be in position to play for a national championship. Neither game will be easy as they must travel to LSU, and Florida seems to be getting it all together. Georgia's season will be decided in the next two weeks.

TCU defeats #9 BYU 32-7
I never have really been a big believer in BYU, but this week I felt they had what it takes to knock off the Horned Frogs of TCU. TCU wiped the floor with BYU likely taking away BYU's hopes of a BCS ! Bowl Game. TCU is always one of those underrated teams that pulls big upsets here and there. The Horned Frogs are 7-1 themselves so I expect them to creep into the Top 25 this week. TCU is a team to watch down the stretch.

Other Upsets and Games
A lot of shockers this week in CFB, but many of them were not upsets. #12 Ohio State iniahlated #20 Michigan State 45-7, in a game that was expected to be a close one. The majority of people, including myself, expected the Spartans to pull the upset. We were all wrong. #3 Penn State also destroyed Michigan 46-17 in a rivalry game people expect to be close. These games just proved that Penn St. and Ohio St. are far above the rest of the Big 10 teams. Boston College improved their ACC standing this week upsetting #17 Virginia Tech 28-23. The Eagles are now 5-1 on the season and are contenders in the weak ACC. #18 North Carolina also fell to Virginia opening up the ACC ! even more. O yeah and #21 Wake Forest was shutout bu Maryland ! 26-0. B C got a ton of help this weekend and now their biggest foe seems to be Florida State. Other upsets had Arizona beating #25 Cal 42-27 and Rutgers beating Uconn 12-10.
